Kevin Murphy

Senior Vice President, Investments

Kevin Murphy is Senior Vice President, Investments for Caro Investors. Kevin will lead originations and investment execution of senior, structured, and distressed debt transactions on primarily multifamily, industrial, and retail collateral types throughout the United States. He will also support asset management of the portfolio as it builds and serve as the hiring manager for the junior investment team. Kevin serves as a member of the Investment Committee.

Kevin has 18 years of real estate credit and equity experience and over the last decade, has been involved in transactions totaling $12.5B. Most recently Kevin served as Senior Vice President, Structured Investments Group at FCP (Federal Capital Partners), a privately held real estate investment company that has invested in or financed more than$12.9B in assets since 1999. At FCP, Kevin launched the subordinate debt platform, led national sourcing efforts, and closed $330M or 19 preferred equity investments and executed on 5 Freddie Mac K-Series B-piece pools totaling $273M of equity. He also chaired the Recruiting and Development Committee for FCP. Previously, Kevin served as VP, Investments at Clarion Partners, wherein he closed 21 equity and credit investments on $1.9B of real estate assets and evaluated $10.7B in opportunities across asset types and risk profiles. Prior to Clarion, Kevin served as an Acquisitions Manager at Monument Realty wherein he underwrote development opportunities throughout the Washington DC area. Kevin began his career at GE Real Estate as a Senior Financial Analyst and Underwriter, where he contributed to 45 national and international portfolio transactions underwriting commercial real estate properties valued at $11.5 billion, across asset types and national markets, for both equity and debt financing.

Kevin has a B.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, Magna Cum Laude wherein he majored in Finance and Computer Applications. He holds an M.B.A. from Northwestern University's Kellogg School. Kevin is a member of National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) and Urban Land Institute (ULI).
